Serenity House
receives letters from our Alumni and their friends and family expressing
their appreciation and letting us know how treatment has changed their
life.
Dear Henry:
I would like to personally thank you for sending us on our spiritual retreat.
I got a chance to get in touch with myself as well as my higher power
as I understand him. It's only through spending time with each other and
sharing with each other that we find our own answers, our own higher power,
and our own path to recovery. It doesn't matter where we come from or
how good or bad we think we had it. The important thing now is where we
are going and this experience did help me find the path to where I am
going today. For this I do thank you.
Sincerely,
R.R.
Dear Serenity House:
I am writing this letter to tell you all how honored I am to be a part
of Serenity House. You have given me a chance to live my life, and be
the person who I always wanted to be. I really appreciate everything you
have done for me and still do up to this day. I really can not put it
in to words, but it is in my heart. I am so grateful that I chose Serenity
House to help me. Thank you so much for being there for me.
God Bless us all!
Thank you,
S.J.
Dear Mr. Tews &
All Staff of Serenity House:
I would like to take this opportunity to remember all I'm grateful for
today! At the top of that list is "Serenity House"! For it has changed
my life forever! It has shown me that I'm a person worthy of love, forgiveness
and a sober life.
I was raised to
believe that problems such as alcoholism, drug addiction, abuse, etc…
were to be hidden from others. Something to be deeply ashamed of. You
have taught me that these are not something to be ashamed of and if we
are willing we can work through it and have peace and serenity.
By coming to Serenity
House in April 1999, I gave myself the best gift possible! For, it was
here I discovered the woman I always wanted to be! I have many wonderful
people in my life, a new found spirituality, a true relationship with
my higher power - whom I chose to call God, and a safe place to grow.
I realize today to sustain this spirituality and sobriety, I must share
with others that come after me. Therefore, please accept this check as
a donation of my gratitude.
Thank you for all
the Hope, Faith & Courage!
God Bless you all.
S.M.
Dear Staff:
We would like to sincerely thank you for letting us have some furniture
for our new apartment. We are just starting out and this is a big help.
Also, I would like to thank you for all your assistance with "Steven."
He has made a great improvement, and to me, this is the greatest thing
that has ever happened to us.
God bless you and
the staff.

Dear Serenity House
Staff:
I want to thank each of you for your support and encouragement through
my stay here at Serenity House. I have seen many miracles happen to many
people who have come through the doors of Serenity House. Myself being
one.
I will miss this
place very much, for this is where I have called home for the last eight
months, and consider you all to be part of my family. The deep concern
and well-being you show towards the clients makes Serenity House a one
of a kind Facility.
I also want to thank
you for the opportunity to serve as a senior resident here. It has been
a great experience. A position desired by many and fulfilled by few. I
am just grateful I had the chance to give something back to the house.
For this I am truly grateful to you and to God.
If there is anything
I can do for you, or the house, or a client in the future, I would be
honored to help in any way I can. A lot of people have thanked me for
what I have done for Serenity House, but whatever I have done or can do
in the future , in no way compares to what this house has done for me.
It has given me a new life, a new freedom, and a new happiness.
May God bless each
and every one of you for ever.
Dear Friends at Serenity
House,
It's very difficult to resurrect those memories of the past when my husband
and I discovered that our daughter was an alcoholic. We knew very little
about the disease and were relieved when she entered treatment and then
went to a halfway house. Little did we know that the future held relapses,
hostility, moving back home, more hostility - - in other words heartache
and a nightmare for the entire family. We were fortunate to have received
counseling, after which we attended meetings of Families Anonymous. She
was accepted into Serenity House's residential program for women, and
because of the loving care she received there, along with her willingness
and our better understanding of her illness, she is now a productive and
well-adjusted individual and has been sober for seven years.
Thank you Serenity
House.
A Grateful
Mother
Dear Henry,
I'm leaving Serenity House and moving into my own apartment with my daughter.
It's going to seem kind of strange at first. I mean, I've been here for
four months now and it's time for me to be a responsible adult and mother.
I couldn't have done
this without Serenity House and the staff - they have been wonderful,
and will always be a part of my life.
It's remarkable how
I have changed. This program here really works. Thank you very much.
If
Serenity House has helped change your life or the life of a loved one,
please let us know!
