November Newsletter
November 29th is #GivingTuesday, and we hope you'll help us meet our goal. For over 30 years, Serenity House has consistently and successfully met the increasing demands for substance abuse treatment through our full continuum of care. Our programs provide a holistic approach that focuses on integrating our residents back into their surroundings as self-sufficient, productive members of their communities while improving the quality of life for their families. This Giving Tuesday, donate and help save lives.
A Look Back At October...
The PLT Leadership Team selected our very own Rachel Decosolayou as their 2022 Adult Changemaker, an annual recognition for individuals, organizations, and communities who are making an impact in DuPage. Her dedication to the DuPage County Action Team Teen Ambassadors Project has played an integral part in making it a success. She has become a trusted adult for the teens, and her impact on their lives is nothing short of amazing. Rachel is genuinely making a difference in DuPage County.
Teen Ambassadors for Mental Health & Substance Use Prevention is a collaboration between The DuPage County Prevention Leadership Team (PLT), Serenity House, and NAMI DuPage. The Project engages teen volunteers in District 87 to act as substance use prevention, mental health wellness, and stigma reduction peer support ambassadors within their school communities and host panel discussions in the community to reduce the stigma associated with substance use and mental wellness.
*Next year's teen ambassadors can apply in April 2023
