Serenity House Drug Court Recovery Initiative
Serenity House Counseling Services, Inc. is excited to announce a new partnership with the Kane County Drug Rehabilitation Court (KCDRC) aimed at enhancing substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and recovery support services for adults with SUD. This collaboration seeks to break the cycle of criminal behavior, substance abuse, and incarceration, while focusing on improving long-term recovery outcomes.
The initiative will provide a coordinated, multisystem approach to SUD treatment that includes residential recovery housing, food support, peer recovery services, and comprehensive case management. These efforts will help participants build healthier lives by addressing substance abuse, behavioral health, housing stability, employability, and social connectedness, all while reducing criminal justice involvement.
Key objectives of the collaboration include:
A coordinated interagency approach to SUD treatment within drug court.
Addressing behavioral health disparities and ensuring participants meet drug court requirements.
Offering comprehensive case management plans to reduce risks for recidivism.
Facilitating access to health insurance for eligible uninsured clients.
Implementing evidence-based practices endorsed by the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP)
This five-year collaboration aims to serve 466 individuals, starting with 80 in the first year, and increasing annually to 105 by the fifth year. Serenity House will continue to provide evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and linguistically appropriate treatment services and recovery support. Participants will receive weekly drug and alcohol tests, as well as screening for HIV, viral hepatitis, and syphilis.

Through this partnership, Serenity House and the Kane County Drug Rehabilitation Court will empower individuals to build healthier futures and achieve self-directed, sustainable recovery.
